Beyoncé has always dominated the music industry through her unmatchable music skills. The singer has her focus on her art and has been religiously polishing it. Even though the singer has a great career in the music industry, she doesn’t see herself following a blueprint.
Beyoncé has stopped focusing on getting popular and believes in quality music production. This is perhaps the reason she didn’t produce any music videos for her albums as she feels the music is enough. Here’s what she said while talking more about the same.
Beyoncé Shares Her Take On Good Music Production
Despite having her pop status, Beyoncé said she doesn’t plan on following a pre-made path. While talking with GQ, the singer said, “I retired from the formula of the pop star a very long time ago. I stopped focusing on what’s popular and began focusing on the qualities that get better with time and experience. Good music and strong messages will never retire.”
She also stated that she takes inspiration from various music boards. The queen of pop noted, “From the start of my career and on every album, I have always mixed genres. Whether it is R&B, Dance, Country, Rap, Zydeco, Blues, Opera, Gospel, they have all influenced me in some way.”

Beyoncé also affirmed, “I have favorite artists from every genre you could think about. I believe genres are traps that box us in and separate us. I’ve experienced this for 25 years in the music industry. Black artists, and other artists of color, have been creating and mastering multiple genres, since forever.”
Beyoncé Explains Why ‘Cowboy Carter’ And ‘Renaissance’ Don’t Have Music Videos
Beyoncé also revealed why ‘Cowboy Carter’ and ‘Renaissance‘ don’t have music videos. She said she feels that visuals distract the listeners from the actual music. The singer said, “Sometimes a visual can be a distraction from the quality of the voice and the music.” It was her intention to avoid music videos for both her albums.
She added, “I thought it was important that during a time where all we see is visuals, that the world can focus on the voice,” she told the outlet. “The music is so rich in history and instrumentation. It takes months to digest, research, and understand. The music needed space to breathe on its own”.
