The ‘Minecraft‘ movie is generating a lot of buzz, but it’s not all about blocky landscapes and creepers. In a surprising twist, popular streamer Valkyrae has a cameo in the upcoming live-action adaptation. She recently spilled some tea about Jason Momoa on set.
While most fans are excited to see Momoa taking on the iconic video game, Valkyrae’s experience wasn’t as thrilling. According to her, the ‘Aquaman‘ star was far from the laid-back, easygoing personality we’re used to seeing.
Jason Momoa’s Alleged Meltdown On Set
Valkyrae opened up about her experience during a chat with fellow streamer JasonTheWeen, where she was asked about her worst celebrity encounter. Without hesitation, she named Momoa, recalling a tense moment on the set of ‘A Minecraft Movie‘.
She explained, “How do I say this? So, Minecraft movie. I have a cameo in the Minecraft movie that’s coming out. So, I would have to say Jason Momoa.”

She explained, “I just saw him mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing. It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character. I don’t know. But, I just was kind of surprised by how he treated some of the crew.“
The YouTuber further elaborated on what happened. Apparently, Momoa was upset over how a particular scene was being set up. “He was just, like, he was just really mad at them, that they weren’t doing something right,” she revealed.
“It was like setting up the shot, and stuff. He was just angry, like really mad, and yelling. So, I was like, ‘Man, this is not a good work environment. I would not be happy working under these conditions.'”
Not So Cool Vibes On Set?
Valkyrae’s comments have sparked some serious discussion among fans. For someone with a reputation like Momoa’s – think lovable, chill, and all-around good vibes – this is definitely not the kind of news people expected.
Still, it’s important to remember that actors can have off days, and maybe this was one of those moments. But yelling at the crew? That’s a whole different level of “not cool.”

As for the ‘Minecraft‘ movie itself, fans are still on the fence about how successful it will be. The trailer, which has over 1.5 million dislikes on YouTube, isn’t exactly winning over hearts.
And after hearing about the on-set drama, the skepticism isn’t going anywhere. Could this movie end up flopping like ‘Borderlands‘, or will it manage to pull a ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ comeback? Only time will tell.
‘A Minecraft Movie‘ will be released in theaters on April 4, 2025.
