‘How I Met Your Mother‘ fans have always laughed and cherished Ted Mosby’s obsession with the knee-length red cowboy boots. Ted bought those boots under the grave delusion that he looked dashing in that footwear. However, Josh Radner, like his fans, did not enjoy the red boots either.
The boots have attracted Ted’s constant pranks from his friends. Barney and Marshal catfished Ted into making him wear only the boots. Robin has even threatened Ted putting the poor red boots as hostage. But Josh never liked them. Here’s what he has said about them.
Josh Radner Reveals He Hated Wearing The Red Boots
In an interview with Ted Talks, Josh Radner revealed that he did not like his character’s fashion choice in ‘How I Met Your Mother’. “I have to say, I never understood those red cowboy boots! I thought: ‘Why does he think these look good?’ He has an okay sense of style!” he said.

Josh stated at a red carpet event for PaleyFest, “The red boots were terribly uncomfortable and I did not like wearing them and I didn’t understand why Ted thought they were cool. Because they were not. No offense to red boot wearers out there.” Answering further questions, Josh said that he did not request to keep the red props.
Josh Radner Reveals He Kept The Blue French Horn From The Show
Although Josh was disappointed in the red boots, he did take home a souvenir from the sets of ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Radner revealed at the same event that he kept the blue French horn from the show. He revealed, “Yes. I had one request and Carter and Craig very kindly gave it to me. I asked for the blue French horn and I got the blue French horn.”

Ted steals the horn from a restaurant to prove his love for Robin in the show’s pilot episode since it became a symbol of the couple’s love. In the show’s finale Ted, parallel to the beginning, stands outside Robin’s apartment holding the blue French horn representing that they are giving their relationship another shot.
