Dennis Quaid, star of films such as ‘The Right Stuff‘ and ‘The Rookie‘, has had a decades-long successful Hollywood career. However, the actor now wants some help from his own son Jack Quaid, who is also making a name for himself in the industry with his role in the recent hit ‘The Boys’.
While doing press for his upcoming Ronald Reagan biopic ‘Reagan‘, Dennis jokingly said he wants Jack to help advance his career through “reverse nepotism“. Here’s everything he said.
Jack Quaid Built A Successful Career Without His Dad’s Help
In Hollywood, the term “nepo baby” has emerged to describe actors who benefited from having famous parents in the industry. Jack Quaid, who has emerged as a well-known actor in the past few months, acknowledged the head start he got in the industry because of being the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan.
However, Dennis seems ready to turn the tables and have his son return the favor. While joking about wanting to make use of nepotism from Jack, Dennis said, “He’s done it his way and his own way.” He further told Entertainment Tonight. “I offered to help get him an agent at first and he said ‘No dad, I’m doing it on my own’“.
Jack was able to get representation and start landing roles without leveraging his famous last name. Some of his earliest credits include roles in blockbuster franchises like ‘Hunger Games‘ and ‘Logan Lucky‘. “Then he got all these jobs from all these directors,” Dennis continued.
Jack Quaid is now widely known for playing Hugh Campbell in the hit Amazon superhero series ‘The Boys‘. He has proven himself a talented comedic actor in horror projects like ‘Scream‘ as well. With an established career of his own, Jack doesn’t need to help his father directly anymore.
But Dennis jokingly indicated that he is hoping for some reciprocity after all his years of success in Hollywood.

Dennis Quaid Needs His Son To “Reverse Nepo” Him
When asked if he would welcome some nepotism from Jack, Dennis responded, “How bout a little help over here? I don’t mind the nepo thing myself, okay? Reverse nepo, I’ll take it!”
It’s clear Dennis was saying this in good humor based on his proud comments about Jack’s independent career. As someone who has played former presidents like Reagan, Dennis has decades of experience to pass on.
But for now, he’ll settle for some playful “reverse nepotism” from his famous actor son who is now well connected in Hollywood himself.
