Actor Danny Masterson was jailed for 30 years for raping two women during his peak television fame. At the time, he received support from Emily Armstrong, a band member of Linkin Park. But it didn’t end well for the singer as she received a lot of backlash after it.
Danny was Emily’s friend in the past but was later found guilty of many things. Emily had to address all the backlash and clarify that she misjudged him and always tried to see good in people. Here’s what she said.
Emily Armstrong Shares A Note On Social Media About Danny Masterson
Emily Armstrong shared an apology on social media for supporting Danny, who was undergoing trials for sexual assault and rape. The ‘Dead Sara’ co-founder shed some light on her the comments she made about Mars Volta‘s Cedric Bixler-Zavala when she was speaking up in support of Masterson during his preliminary screening and trials in 2020. Bixler-Zavala’s wife, Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, was among several women who were the victims of the assault.
“Hi, I’m Emily. I’m new to so many of you, and I wanted to clear the air about something that happened a while back,” Armstrong wrote in her Instagram Story. “Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer,” she added.

Armstrong further wrote: “Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since. Unimaginable details emerged and he was later found guilty.”
She concluded the post by writing, “To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes.”
Emily Armstrong Was Linked With Child Trafficking, Children Abuse, And Other Malicious Things
Linkin Park announced its grand return on September 5 with Emily Armstrong, Mike Shinoda’s new co-vocalist and Colin Brittain signing on as drummer and co-producer. Soon after that, Bixler-Zavala (one of the women who was assaulted), spoke up against Emily’s support for the rapist. She also asserted that Armstrong has ties with the Church of Scientology, as per Rolling Stone.
“Do your fans know about your friend Danny Masterson? Your rapist friend,” Bixler wrote last year in a comment on ‘Dead Sara’s Instagram page for Emily Armstrong. “Remember how your fellow scientologist goon squad surrounded one of the Jane Doe’s when she was trying to leave the elevators? The court sheriffs had to escort her away from your awful cult…” she added.

In another Instagram post, she accused the musician of “hardcore Scientologist who supported convicted serial rapist both in and out of court”. She added, “Emily Armstrong is a true believer of the Scientology cult/criminal organization that engages in human and child trafficking, child and elder abuse, the coverups of countless [sexual assaults] on children and adults.”
Armstrong faced heavy backlash after the same, for which she has now apologised.
