The latest episode of ‘Saturday Night Live‘ was a classic one with its bitter delivery and a hilarious take on the election of Donald Trump as America’s president. Laden with satire and cheeky mockery, the cold open had the cast seeming somber as they talked about the potential ramifications of Trump’s victory.
They quickly moved into a hilariously sarcastic bit of faux-praise over the former president. However, what stood out was the portrayal of Elon Musk as the new ruler of the world. Here’s how the episode unfolded.
‘SNL’ Cast Slams Donald Trump After His Second Win
The episode started with Kenan Thompson portraying Donald Trump, who won his second term as president. “We have been with you all along,” said Kenan, impersonating Trump.
Bowen Yang, another cast member, added, “We have never wavered in our support of you, even when others doubted you!” The rest of the cast picked up from there when Marcello Hernández went on to deliver the punchline, “Every single person on this stage voted for you!“
The satire didn’t stop there as Colin Jost mockingly labeled his ‘Weekend Update’ co-host Michael Che as part of the “lame-stream media,” before Jost made a bold statement by appearing on-screen wearing a January 6 riots-style Viking helmet.
The skit further crescendoed when James Austin Johnson transformed into a fictional “Hot Jacked Trump” complete with a red Rambo headband, declaring Trump his “hero” and calling him “future king”.
Dana Carvey Plays Elon Musk In A Sharp Satirical Performance
The twist came when Dana Carvey moved from playing Joe Biden to doing Elon Musk in his own offbeat style. With Musk’s awkward dance moves and thick South African accent at Trump’s recent rally, Carvey mocked Musk, while also satrically cautioning America against his possible dominance.
“Check it out: dark MAGA. Yeah! But seriously, I run the country now. America is going to be like one of my rockets,” Carvey said. “They are super cool, super fun,” Carvey said of the rockets, adding, “There’s a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies. Haha!”

Where the more muted 2016 post-election episode featured Kate McKinnon singing ‘Hallelujah’ as Hillary Clinton, this time, ‘SNL‘ played it for all laughs, skewering Trump, as the election season ended.
Trump’s win came as a surprise for the world given the unpredictable nature of the elections this year. With most of Hollywood endorsing Harris, people were hoping to get her elected. However, Trump — who had dedicated support from Tesla CEO Elon Musk — won, cementing his second term as the US president.
