Brendan Fraser Talks About Doing A Fourth ‘Mummy’ Film
Fraser became a household name for his performance in ‘The Mummy‘ franchise. However, Universal Pictures decided to reboot the franchise with Tom Cruise which turned out to be a flop.
In a cover story interview for Variety, the actor said that he’s open to revisiting the franchise that made him a star. “I don’t know how it would work,” he said. “But I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right conceit.”
Stephen Sommers, the director of ‘The Mummy‘ said he cast Fraser because of his specific set of skills. “He could throw a punch and take a punch and he had a great sense of humor,” he said. “You really like the guy. He never comes across as cocky or arrogant.”
Sommers said that Fraser did several of his own stunts and even injured his knee at one point. “He was game for anything we threw at him,” he said.

Why Did Fraser Take A Break From Acting?
Fraser started appearing less in films during the 2010s. The actor gave out a statement saying that he is taking a break because of chronic pain. This was a result of all the stunts he used to perform in action films.
“By the time I did the third Mummy picture in China, I was put together with tape and ice—just, like, really nerdy and fetishy about ice packs,” he said.
He continued, “Screw-cap ice packs and downhill-mountain-biking pads, ’cause they’re small and light and they can fit under your clothes. I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily.”
The actor stated that his life has changed quite a lot. “I changed houses, I went through a divorce. Some kids were born. I mean, they were born, but they’re growing up. I was going through things that mold and shape you in ways that you’re not ready for until you go through them,” he explained.
