Samberg, in a new interview, has now revealed that he almost had a wardrobe malfunction while he was performing in the video. Here’s the full story.
Andy Samberg’s Wardrobe Malfunction During ‘SNL‘
Andy Samberg revealed on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast that he almost “flopped out” during the filming of the Here I Go skit for ‘Saturday Night Live‘. Samberg revealed specifics of the filming procedure in the podcast episode, during which he became aware that his shorts’ length was insecure.
Samberg claimed that there was much discussion on the appropriate height for his shorts. He talked about how he even contemplated dressing in the same red shorts and bikini top that Charli wore at one point. Later, Samberg requested that his shorts be made further shorter by the costume crew. But he soon came to the conclusion it might not be the greatest option.
He said, “They cut them higher, and I was like, ‘I don’t know, maybe I should go higher.’ And then as soon as we started, like, really dancing, I really almost flopped out. I was like, ‘Oh no!’ Thank God we did not make it any higher, cause it would have been really bad.”
What Was The ‘Here I Go’ Skit About?
Charli XCX teamed up with the comedy company The Lonely Island (which consists of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone) for a special SNL digital short. The singer and Samberg sang a song about the love of snitching, making it one of the most hilarious segments of that night’s show.
The song was an instant hit and fans called it a hilarious take on law enforcements. “I’ve been itching to do some snitching / I’m in my kitchen listening to my conditioning / And then picking up that phone / And I know you’re not supposed to do this anymore / But does it help to know that who I snitched on was white,” sang Samberg.
