Ever since his public split with Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn has been on the other end of intense social media hate. Taylor Swift‘s fans have been constantly dragging the actor down since the infamous breakup, for allegedly giving Swift a hard time.
Alwyn, who has always been private about his life, has not yet spoken out on the backlash or publicly acknowledged it. But it’s safe to say that he’s aware of it as he’s visibly trying to direct his fans’ attention to something bigger and more important.
After Joe Alwyn recently started trending on social media because of Taylor Swift’s announcement of ‘Tortured Poets Department‘, he is making visible efforts to direct that attention towards awareness about the ongoing Israel-Palestine war.
The actor is trying his best to get help from people for the aiding the victims of the bloody war where over 33,000 Palestinians have been killed so far. Alwyn was also recently seen wearing a ceasefire pin, and also signed a letter demanding ceasefire.
Apart from this, he’s also getting involved in with other charity organizations including the cinema4gaza charity.
This is not the first time the actor has directed Swifties’ attention to Palestine. On Taylor’s birthday, anticipating the people who would probably stalk his account, he posted resources and awareness for the Palestinian war.
Why Is Joe Alwyn Getting Hate From Swifties?
Most of the backlash coming Alwyn’s way stems from the lyrics of Swift’s song ‘You’re Losing Me‘, where she talked about Joe’s indifference towards her. It was later fueled by subtle hints from Swift herself as she sang songs directed at Alwyn, and released a playlist labeling the romantic songs written for him as being written in a state of “delusion“.
Further, fans have been attacking a few of Joe’s co stars creating rumors of infidelity on his side. Many have also started comparing Travis Kelce’s publicly romantic behavior towards Taylor with Joe’s desire for privacy and refusal to ever talk about their relationship publicly.
As of now, Taylor Swift is ready to drop more bombs on the relationship on April 19th, the release date for ‘Tortured Poets Department‘.
