Kanye West, now officially known as Ye, has once again found himself at the center of controversy. However, this time it’s over a public dispute with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, regarding their 11-year-old daughter, North West.
The feud erupted after Ye released a song, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, featuring North alongside Sean Diddy Combs and his son, Christian Combs. Kim, to protect her children, had copyrighted their name. This made it impossible for Ye to use her name, sparking the feud.
Kanye West Says He Will Go To War If Kim Kardashian Doesn’t Give Him Rights To North West’s Trademark

Kim Kardashian and the Kardashians are in general deeply protective of her children. So, unsurprisingly, she was furious over North’s involvement in the track and allegedly sought legal intervention to prevent the song’s release. This was mainly due to the song including Diddy after he had been exposed and is behind bars for his crimes.
Ye had previously also featured North in several songs. However, this makes it different from the rest. A leaked text exchange between the former couple (posted and then deleted by Ye) exposed the tension. In the messages, Kanye accused Kim of trademarking their daughter’s name without his full consent, while Kim reminded him that he had initially agreed to it.
She emphasized that North would have full control over the trademark once she turned 18, urging Ye to stop his complaints. “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her,” Kardashian reportedly texted. “One person has to trademark!” Ye, however, was not happy with this. “Amend it or I’m going to war,” he wrote. “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout.”
While sources close to the situation claimed Kim attempted to mediate the dispute legally, the rapper proceeded with the song’s release. North’s voice can be heard in the track rapping the line, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.” Kim’s primary concern, according to TMZ, is shielding her daughter from her father’s increasingly controversial and erratic behavior.
Kanye West’s Descent Into Extremism

Over the past few months, Ye has engaged in a series of troubling online rants, openly promoting antisemitic views, white supremacist ideologies, and conspiracy theories. With North’s name now attached to a song involving Diddy, Kim understandably felt an urgent need to intervene. The rapper, who once thrived on pushing creative boundaries, has now become a figure synonymous with hate speech and controversy.

Ye unleashed a disturbing series of posts on X where he doubled down on his past antisemitic statements. The rapper professed admiration for Adolf Hitler and openly declared himself a Nazi. “I’m never apologizing for my Jewish comments,” Ye wrote, directly contradicting a previous apology he had issued in Hebrew last year.
Ye’s public embrace of extremism has led to severe consequences. Major brands, including Adidas, had already severed ties with him in 2023 over his antisemitic remarks. Now, even his Yeezy website was reportedly shut down by Shopify, and his talent agency has also dropped him.
Despite everything, Ye continues his tirades and declares his support for Diddy. Additionally, Kim Kardashian has been open about the challenges of co-parenting with Kanye. However, Ye’s latest antics have made that task even harder. Sources close to Kim say she is deeply concerned about North and does not want her daughter entangled in her father’s controversies.
“She wants to protect her kids, plain and simple,” a source told Page Six. “She doesn’t want North involved in Ye’s latest controversial moves or tied to Diddy’s legal troubles.” Despite Kim’s attempts to block the song’s release, Ye did not back off. For Kim, the priority remains clear: keeping her children safe and separate from the storm.
