Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet met on the set of James Cameron’s legendary romantic movie ‘Titanic‘. They were both cast in the lead roles. Kate admitted that they were like the goofy kids on the set. They used to constantly mess around which made their connection even stronger. Kate and Leonardo claim that they’ve grown up together in Hollywood. The best-friends duo has helped each other grow in the tough industry.
“You know, working with Leonardo DiCaprio — he’s a bit gorgeous, and I was worried that I was going to be bowled over by him, or that he was going to find me all stuffy and Shakespearean and English. But the second we met, we just completely clicked,” Winslet said. She also added that they did the most ridiculous things to each other: “He’d be tickling me, groping me, winding me up. And I’d be doing the same thing back, sort of grabbing his bum.”

Why Did The Stars Never Date Each Other?
Despite the fans’ wishes, the two always had a platonic relationship. While Kate admitted that she felt a spark when they were filming a steamy scene for their movie, ‘Titanic‘, she explained that the ‘Rose’ in her was loving the ‘Jack’ in him during the scene: “It so wasn’t us. And yet we were so locked into what all that had to be about. The Rose in me was really sort of loving the Jack in him, actually. And even though I didn’t feel that way about Leo, it was quite nice to sort of feel that way in the scene.” Kate even said that her relationship with Dicaprio was that of a brother-sister kind.
People constantly ask about why the two never dated despite being such great friends. To this, Kate replied that the reason why the two are such good friends is that they never had romantic feelings for each other. “It’s so disappointing for people to hear that because, in the soap opera of the ‘Kate and Leo’ story, we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually, we never did. He always saw me as one of the boys. I’ve never really been a girly girl,” she shared.
