Kayleigh McEnany, who earlier served as the White House press secretary during the Donald Trump presidency, has called out the Republicans celebrating Johnny Depp’s defamation win against Amber Heard. On Wednesday actor Johnny Depp won his libel case against ex-wife Amber Heard after a long legal tug of war. The respected jury ruled in favor of all three of Depp’s defamation claims against Heard. The jury clearly proved that Amber Heard’s claims of Johnny being a domestic abuser were completely false.
The actor got $15million – $10million in compensation and $5million in punitive damages. The jury also awarded Heard a smaller sum of $2 million in compensatory damages. Depp was liable for defamation when one of his attorneys described Amber’s allegations of sexual abuse as a “hoax.” Johnny Depp thanked the jury for “giving him his life back”. However, Heard was upset and thought that her defeat represented the defeat of all the women across the world.

“I see some Republicans celebrating him. I don’t think that this is your guy,” she said, per DailyMail.com. McEnany noted that, in 2017, Depp joked about assassinating Trump. “These are two people that were in a toxic relationship and are both very flawed. They both have problems, that was evident in both of their testimony,” she said on Fox News on Thursday.
She continued, “And look, I know that there was a verdict of that was 15 million against Amber Heard, $2 million against one of Johnny Depp’s agents. But let’s be clear. There are no winners here. Not a single person in this case is a winner. We heard about their personal life, intimate details.”
“I Don’t Think That This Is Your Guy,” The Former Press Secretory Says
Kayleigh McEnany, The former press secretary under Trump also reminded her co-hosts of Depp’s call to assassinate the former president in 2017. “And I think that those who are celebrating Johnny Depp are a bit misguided, in my view. I remember Johnny Depp as being the actor who said, and I’ll read it directly, “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” that’s when President Trump was president. I see some Republicans celebrating him, I don’t think that this is your guy,’ she said.
Depp’s 2017 appearance at the UK music festival Glastonbury witnessed the assassination remark.
