Fans have eagerly been waiting for Mahershala Ali’s first outing as ‘Blade‘, but its road to production hasn’t exactly been seamless. What promised to be a sure-fire blockbuster has remained in limbo, with its latest deletion from Marvel Studios’ slate causing some concern among fans. Well, that’s been laid to rest by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who recently reassured that the film is still in the works.

As reported by Feige in a recent interview with Omelete, they are fully committed to making ‘Blade‘ happen. Besides, he also had some exciting news for fans of Marvel projects like ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘, ‘Spider-Man’, and ‘Agatha All Along‘ among others. Here’s what he said.

Speaking during a recent interview, Marvel head Kevin Feige gave ‘Blade‘ fans some hope about the franchise. “We are committed to Blade. We love the character, we love the version that Mahershala has of him… I can say that the character will reach the MCU,” he said. This comes as a huge relief since fans had been worried about the project given the earlier declarations from Feige.

The movie, which was previously set to be released in November 2023, has since been moved to November 2025. But it is currently likely to see a release in 2026. Other than Feige’s reassuring statement, reports also suggest that Mahershala Ali is still attached to his character in the film, and Yann Demange would be directing the film though rumors of his exit had gotten fans concerned. Moreover, Mia Goth will reportedly be playing Lilith’s character in the film.

While the ‘Blade release date is yet to be confirmed, Kevin Feige talked about other fan-favorite projects. He confirmed that ‘Deadpool and Wolverine will really play a significant role in the MCU going forward. “The plans for Deadpool and Wolverine will always be the same. We’re constantly asking ourselves where we can fit them in, and how quickly,” Feige said. So fans can expect more of these beloved characters as Marvel continues integrating them into future storylines.

Feige further hinted that Marvel may be slowly getting interested in renewals for its shows, starting from ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘. It might be the first sign of other shows happening with Marvel lasting more than a season. As far as he is concerned, most such decisions are going to pop up as the new lineup continues.

I hope shortly after that, he can enter the MCU in live-action,” Feige teased. This would be a massive stride for the MCU’s future as it continues to expand its multiverse narrative.

Finally, Feige spoke on the future of other iconic Marvel characters. He said that after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘, the X-Men will play an important part in the MCU while hinting that Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, might come back, though he did not say when or how she will come back.
