Hollywood is never free of drama, be it on or off-screen. There recently have been multiple cases where actors and artists from the industry have been sued for several reasons. This time, the case involves comedian and actor Kevin Hart — except he is on the other end of the allegations.
The actor has sued a YouTuber alleging extortion attempts. The comedian has filed a lawsuit against controversial YouTuber LaTasha Kebe, also known as Tasha K. Here’s all you need to know about the comedian’s allegations against her and the reason she is legal soup.

Why Is The Interview Between Tasha K And Kevin Hart’s Ex-assistant Controversial?
Kevin Hart has sued the YouTuber alleging that she attempted to extort him by threatening to release an interview with his former assistant. He also claimed that she asked him to pay a hefty sum if he did not want that happening. But what is so “damaging” about this interview?
According to the lawsuit filed against LaTasha, she had an interview with Kevin Hart’s former assistant, Miesha Shakes, in November 2023. The interview reportedly had “false and defamatory statements regarding Hart.”
After the recording, a person affiliated with Kebe allegedly contacted Hart’s team, demanding a $250,000 ransom to prevent the damaging interview from being made public. LaTasha threatened him of the potentially harmful impact the video could have on Hart’s reputation. She also got his marriage and business dealings involved in the threat, the lawsuit said.
Retaliating to the threats, Kebe posted a teaser for the interview, which she claimed has a “salacious and damaging nature“. “The teaser included a statement from Kebe at the 2:06 mark of the video specifically warning that ‘when you don’t pay, we have to get money by any means necessary,’” the lawsuit claims.

What Does The Lawsuit Against Tasha K Allege?
It was after this that Hart’s team reached out to law enforcement. They sent a cease and desist letter to Kebe, citing assistant Shakes’ prior Non-Disclosure Agreement and Confidentiality Agreement.
However, Kebe did not budge from her threats and informed Hart that she would be releasing the full interview on December 22. As promised, the video went live on her subscription-based website.
Hart is now taking legal action against both LaTasha Kebe and his assistant Shakes. Other than extortion, Hart has also alleged invasion of privacy. He has sought damages for breach of contract and intentional interference with contractual relations.
In response to the lawsuit, Kebe hs reposted the interview with Shakes on her Instagram story.
Kebe has been in legal trouble before. Hart’s legal team has made it a point to bring to notice the defamation lawsuit that she lost to Cardi B. Hart’s team argues that the YouTuber has a history of producing “defamatory and otherwise improper content.”
