Madame Tussauds, the famous London waxwork museum has let out a statement that they removed a wax figure of Kanye West from public view. This is in consequence of the anti-Semitic comments the rapper made on Twitter and Instagram which made Adidas, Balenciaga and Vogue to end their deal with him. Tussauds is the latest institution to drop the ‘Donda’ rapper following extremely offensive comments.
London museum has transferred the wax figurine to an archive room; a symbolic representation of his fall from grace. Within few weeks, West who has formally changed his name ‘Ye’ has lost his talent representation, connections to major fashion houses and other lucrative relationships with major brands and personalities.

Why Did Madame Tussauds Remove Ye’s Wax Statue From Public Display?
“Ye’s figure has been retired from the attraction floor to our archive,” a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds London said. “Each profile earns their place at Madame Tussauds London and we listen to our guests and the public on who they expect to see at the attraction.” A very polished way of saying West’s time is over.
The figurine was originally launched in the museum in 2015 alongside a waxwork of his then wife Kim Kardashian. In just a few days, West was dropped from his talent agency CAA, Balenciaga and Adidas. A completed documentary about the rapper has also been shelved. In response, many have started questioning whether the fashion mogul’s decades-long career is over.

Is Kanye West Still A Billionaire?
Ye was ranked earlier this year at number 1,513 on Forbes’ rich list. His value was at $2bn due to his fashion brands and deal with Adidas. Forbes now estimates that the rapper’s value is $400m. This stems from “real estate, cash, his music catalogue, and a 5% stake in ex-wife Kardashian’s shapewear firm, Skims”.
When sportswear brand Adidas ended its estimated $250 million partnership with Ye, it cost him not only his pride also his billionaire status. He is now succeeded by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. In 2022, the artist has become the second-wealthiest Hip Hop artist in the world with a net worth of $1 billion.
