The former home of beloved ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry, who passed away last year, has found a new owner. The property was bought by Anita Verma-Lallian, an Indian-origin real estate developer and film producer.
The house was purchased for $8.55 million in an off-market and is in Pacific Palisades. It stands as a testament to both Hollywood history and luxurious living. Verma-Lallian shared her joy over the purchase on Instagram.
New Owner Of Matthew Perry’s House Instantly Fell In Love With Its View
Anita Verma-Lallian’s connection to her new property runs deeper than mere aesthetics. Reflecting on her first visit, she revealed, “The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean. We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to write an offer on it immediately.”
The property holds a special place not just because of its late former owner, but also due to the memories Verma-Lallian intends to create within its walls. Moreover, as a Hindu, she embraced a traditional blessing ritual to honor the new beginning.
The developer noted, “It’s customary to do a blessing and prayer anytime you buy a new home. We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing.”
Anita Verma-Lallian Plans On Keeping Some Of Matthew Perry’s Renovations
The midcentury architectural beauty of the 3,500-square-foot home had been transformed by Matthew Perry himself. The actor invested a lot of time and effort in making it a sanctuary. Moreover, one of his major additions was a luxurious pool with a connected hot tub.
Unfortunately, it was also the place where he was found unresponsive there in October of the previous year. The house sits on half an acre in the Los Angeles hills and offers a view of the Pacific Ocean, a feature that captivated Verma-Lallian to make an immediate offer. Perry also designed a built-in wine wall, which Verma-Lallian plans to keep.

“I’ll maintain some of Matthew’s updates while adding my own touches to make it my ideal vacation home,” she shared. In reflecting on her purchase, she expressed her vision, saying, “It’s a piece of paradise that is filled with light and the perfect vacation home for us. Can’t wait to make new memories in it.” While she embraces the past and the history of the house, she also wants to make it her own.
