The annual Met Gala evening was off to a great start in New York. The Super Bowl of Fashion breathed Gilded Age. The theme was “In America: An Anthology Of Fashion.” The Musicians, celebrities, actors, politicians, and sports personalities brought their take on the Gilded era of New York. The aim is to channel the 1870-1890 era with a twist to Gilded Glamor and white tie attire. As per Vogue, the attendees must “embody the grandeur and perhaps, the dichotomy of Gilded Age New York.” Anna Wintour, Tour De Force of Vogue with Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and others are hosting the evening. The couple made a powerful entry on the red carpet hand ad the attendees swooned.

The couple did not only co-chair Met Gala but made a show-stopping entry on the Red Carpet. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, they served us regal and opulence. She dressed in a Versace Atelier Gown accessorized with earrings. The breath of the whole of New York was taken away when she flipped the trail into an aqua side. Last time, in 2019, Lady Gaga flipped the train into a whole new gown. Ryan Reynolds adhering to the “white-tie” theme wore a velvet tux and a white bow tie.
While interacting with one of the compéres, La La Anthony, Blake described the palette as oxidation. She said, “I thought instead of looking to fashion to influence the dress, I looked to New York City architecture and the classic buildings.” At the cost of sounding like a Wikipedia page and admitting it, Lively told the report her style that she curated with Lorraine Schwartz.
“The draping [represents] the Statue of Liberty, plus the crown which has seven tiers, the Statue Liberty has seven rays representing the sun’s rays and then also the 7 seas and continents which represents welcomeness, inclusivity, and freedom. She has 25 windows so Lorraine [Schwartz] put 25 stones at the bottom, so they’re all New York City references.”
