Miley Cyrus’s love triangle with Jake and Jesse in ‘Hannah Montana’ remains one of Disney’s most iconic romantic storylines. They were our very own version of Team Edward vs Team Jacob. For years, fans have argued over who’s the perfect match for Miley.
But now Miley Cyrus herself has revealed her pick between Team Jesse and Team Jake. And her answer has settled this debate for good.
Miley Cyrus Finally Chooses Between Jake and Jesse

In an interview with Variety, Miley Cyrus explained that Jesse feels more like the right match for Miley, while Jake was always the pick for Hannah. She commented that “Hannah is more Jake,” while “Miley is more Jesse.”

She also revealed that “Team Jesse is probably more my real choice. I would kind of go for that more bad boy, rockstar energy.” This makes perfect sense because, while Jesse had the bad-boy exterior, he always shared more in common with Miley’s true personality.
On the other hand, Jake and Hannah always had a smooth chemistry. Cyrus herself admitted, “I think because Jake just made sense for Hannah.” At that time, she leaned more toward Team Jake.
Jake’s Betrayal Makes Miley’s Choice Clear

While Miley Cyrus’ recent comments may have surprised some fans, Jake Ryan’s storyline already hinted that he was never the right match for her real self. And now, even the actor behind Jake is acknowledging that turning point.

Cody Linley, who played Jake in ‘Hannah Montana‘, recently appeared on the Reel Appreciation podcast and addressed the character’s controversial romance with Miley Stewart. He revisited the moment that changed everything, Jake cheating on Miley, which ultimately ended their relationship and left fans divided for years.
Reflecting on it now, Linley admitted that Jake’s actions came from immaturity, explaining that the character was still learning and growing, even if his choices ended up hurting Miley. More importantly, he didn’t try to defend Jake’s behavior. He openly acknowledged that “Jake did do her dirty in the end,” reinforcing what many fans had felt for years.
He also described their relationship as a “bittersweet ending,” one that started like a classic Disney romance but ultimately collapsed under betrayal. That moment didn’t just end their love story; it changed how viewers saw Jake altogether.
While Jake may have been perfect for Hannah’s world, Jesse’s connection to Miley feels more real, especially when compared to a relationship that couldn’t survive its biggest mistake.
