The music industry has lost another gem. Legendary singer, songwriter and often called ‘the last of American crooners’, Tony Bennett has passed away. The 20 times Grammy winner was 96. During his career, Bennet worked with various high-profile celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Frank Sinatra.
With a massively successful career that lasted more than eight decades, Bennet leaves behind a legacy of classics and super hits. Celebrities all around the world pay homage to the crooner on social media.

The Last Of American Crooners Tony Bennett Passes Away
According to his publicists, Tony Bennett was “singing at his piano” just days before he passed away. His spokeswoman Sylvia Weiner informed the Associated Press in a statement that Bennett had passed away.
She reported that he passed away in his hometown in New York. Although no specific reason for his demise was given, Bennett had been identified as having Alzheimer’s disease since 2016.

Sir Elton John wrote on social media: “So sad to hear of Tony’s passing. Without doubt the classiest singer, man, and performer you will ever see. He’s irreplaceable. I loved and adored him. Condolences to Susan, Danny and the family.”
Further, Hillary Clinton described Bennett on Twitter as “A true talent, a true gentleman, and a true friend.”
