A new tour by Liam Payne was announced for this year. It was slated to take place at locations all around South and Latin America from September 1 to September 12, 2023. On July 3, 2023, the artist posted an update on his official Instagram page announcing the tour, which would include performances in various cities.
The announcement made fans very happy to see Payne after a long time. However, an unforeseen change of events led to Payne having to cancel the tour. Here’s what happened.

Liam Payne took to Twitter to make the announcement that he had to postpone the concerts after being hospitalized for a “serious kidney infection.”

The full statement reads
“It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the past week, I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover.”
“I was beyond excited to come play for you guys. To all of you who have bought tickets: I’m so sorry. We’re working to reschedule the tour as soon as we possibly can, but for now we will be refunding the tickets – so please look out for updates from your point of purchase. Thanks as always for the love and support, and look forward to seeing you soon,” he further added.
The former One Direction member stated that he had “no choice” but to postpone his planned tour of South America. Payne claimed in an additional video that after starting the tour’s rehearsals, he was informed that “now really wasn’t the right time to be out on the road.”
He vowed to return with an “even bigger, better show” after he recovers.
