It’s not unusual for successful, single women in Hollywood to face questions about their sexuality. Oprah Winfrey, one of the most vibrant and bold faces of the industry, has always been away from romance dramas except for a few strands here and there — which is a rare feat for anyone associated with the world of glitz and glam. This was sure to bring in some curious eyes to romantic life.
But the first one to voice it was Andy Cohen. But little did he know that confronting Oprah with his doubts would turn out to be one of his biggest career regrets. Cohen thinks he made a huge mistake by asking Oprah Winfrey if she’s ever slept with a woman. Here’s what the TV show host said as he looked back at his mistake.

Andy Cohen Talks About A Career Moment He Highly Regrets
Andy Cohen was recently speaking during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, when he reflected on his career, admitting that one of his most cringe-worthy moments was asking the billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey if she had ever “taken a dip in the lady pond.”
The 56-year-old Bravo host recalled the awkward moment from a 2013 episode of his show, ‘Watch What Happens Live‘, which he thought was a pretty successful one up until the point he asked that question.
“It meant so much to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show. It’s gone brilliantly, and I turn around and ask her if she’s ever had sex with a woman. I mean, couldn’t I leave it alone?” he said.
He recalled the atmosphere shifting dramatically after he laid out the question. Oprah Winfrey stared at Cohen for a moment and then succinctly replied, “No, I have not. Thank you.” Looking back at the incident, Cohen said, “It’s one of my few regrets.”
However, he said that Oprah did not make him feel awkward about the question once the cameras stopped rolling.

Oprah Winfrey Did Not Know What The “Lady Pond” Meant
However, the interesting tale does not end here. Adding a twist to the tale, Gayle King later revealed that Oprah didn’t understand the phrase “the lady pond” at the time. “Gayle King told me later that week that Oprah didn’t know what I meant by ‘the lady pond.’ I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was so grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am,” Cohen said.
Despite the awkwardness, Cohen looks back on the interview with happiness. “That remains, I think, my favorite episode of WWHL,” he said. Now we don’t know whether or not Oprah is aware of the kind of question thrown at her, but she definitely did respond like the media mogul she is.
As for her romantic life and sexuality, there has been no news so far about Oprah Winfrey being interested in women.
