Pedro Pascal is enjoying his moment in the sun. The Chilean-American actor has openly embraced the NSFW adoration of his fans. The internet’s daddy has even admitted to googling himself when feeling down. Thanks to ‘The Last Of Us’ and ‘The Mandalorian,’ he’s become embedded in pop culture.
But long before that, he became famous with ‘Game Of Thrones.’ His fan favorite, Oberyn Martell, met an unfortunate end with his eyes gauged out. Fans started associating with this moment, with Pascal being game with strange fan demands. But being too earnest put his health in danger.

As Oberyn Martell, Pedro Pascal made quite an impact in his brief stint on ‘Game Of Thrones.’ Fans began associating Pascal with this moment, who was courteous enough to comply with odd fan demands. He realized he needed to put his foot down when he got an eye infection. During ‘The Hollywood Reporter’s’ Drama Actors Roundtable,’ Pascal opened up about this dark side of fame.
Pedro Pascal talked about the need to draw a line with fans, “I remember, earlier on, because of ‘Game of Thrones’ and the way my character died — speaking of touching — people were super into taking selfies with their thumbs in my eyes. And at first, I was so earnest and happy about the success of the character in the show, I’d let them! And then I remember getting a bit of an eye infection.”
Pedro Pascal Explains Why He’s Longer Physically Playing ‘The Mandalorian’
This was an announcement that left many shocked. Pedro Pascal also discussed the difficulties of working with ‘The Mandalorian’ armor. Initially, he was filming the show in a metal suit. But as the show progressed, the Chilean-American actor found his body couldn’t stand the suit anymore. He decided only to do the voice work for his bounty hunter character.
Pascal told his fellow actors at the Roundtable, “There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it. But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount. But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else.” Good on him for learning to say no.
