Elon Musk is at loggerheads with yet another popular figure again. The controversy around Don Lemon’s firing by Elon Musk emerged after an interview that challenged the tech mogul’s views. Lemon, a former host for CNN, did not hold back while posting the unfair treatment on social media.
As the controversy further gains traction, Lemon has now revealed the alleged diva’s demands to join Elon Musk’s X platform. Lemon has now admitted to negotiating his contract but dismissing the specific claims as “nonsense.”

Don Lemon Denies Allegations Of Extravagant Demands To Join X
In a recent podcast interview with Mediaite, Don Lemon addressed the reports that claimed that he had made some extravagant demands to join X, including an $8 million annual salary, a Cybertruck, and the opportunity to be the first podcaster in space. Though Lemon brushed off these claims as “nonsense,” he admitted that negotiation is a common part of deal-making.
The podcast host specifically quoted reports, asking Lemon if the rumors were true. “The New York Post has been reporting some stuff… that you made a bunch of requests from X. That you asked for a Cybertruck, an $8 million annual salary…”
Lemon cut the podcaster short, stating, “Oh come on. That is nonsense. People negotiate all the time, but that’s, come on. It’s obviously a deflection. ”
Asked if he reads The New York Post, Lemon quipped, “No, I don’t read the New York Post. Oh, I do read the New York Post. I lied. I read the horoscopes in the New York Post.”
“It has nothing to do with the interview, and I’m not going to fall into that. I don’t read the New York Post, but I do love their horoscopes. It’s great. I’m a Pisces, by the way, so you can read my horoscope to know what’s going on in my life,” he further said about the news portal.
Lemon’s representatives had also denied the allegations earlier, with his agent Jay Sures and former CNN spokesperson Allison Gollust calling them “absolute, complete utter nonsense” and stating that “literally nothing” in the reported demands was true.

Don Lemon Says He “Has Nothing Against Elon Musk”
Speaking about his current dynamic with Elon Musk, Don Lemon revealed that he has not heard from the Tesla mogul since their partnership ended. “No, I have not heard from him, We used to text occasionally, not a lot,” he said.
Speaking about the split, he said, “There’s no lawyers working on anything. I am under the assumption that we had a deal and they have to abide by the terms of the deal. If they don’t do that within the limits of the contract, then we’ll be forced to take legal action.”
Lemon was hesitant to talk about his contract. “I don’t like to talk about money or terms. I just find it gauche. It’s just not done. That’s the reason I have an agent,” he said.
He clarified that he does not wish to personally target Elon Musk amid all the frenzy. “I have nothing against Elon Musk. I had no agenda except for people to get to know about him, to get to know about me, and maybe to get to learn something about themselves. I thought I was doing what he wanted on the platform,” he said.
Elon Musk decided to cancel Don Lemon’s show on X, after he was apparently dissatisfied with the content and performance. Lemon was unexpectedly fired from the platform before their debut episode aired.
