Ryan Murphy gave Travis Kelce the acting debut he needed in ‘Grotesquerie’. The critically acclaimed director knows how to spot talent and has brought out the best in the NFL star on screen. That said, Murphy has shared his desire to work with Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Swift has appeared in movies and television shows many times, apart from dominating the music industry. Now, Murphy is keen on working with her on screen. He has talked with the ‘Cruel Summer‘ singer about his desire, and if she ever says yes to it, he will do it in a heartbeat.
Ryan Murphy Has Been Trying To Work With Taylor Swift For Years
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy talked about the last episode of ‘Grotesquerie‘ and also discussed how he approached Taylor Swift for a collaboration.
“I’ve talked to Taylor’s people about various things through the years, and all I will say is that I think she’s great and if she ever has time to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat,” said Murphy. “I think she’s one of the greats.”
Murphy also added that he was “shy” to approach Travis Kelce and talk to him about his girlfriend on the set but “he’s very sweet about it and respectful.” Murphy added, “They are a pop-culture phenomenon. It’s a very interesting dynamic, the way they’ve captured the imagination of the world.”
‘Grotesquerie’ Features A Little Nod To Taylor Swift
Ryan Murphy always believed in Travis Kelce’s hidden acting skills and was thrilled to give him a start in the acting business. The football player plays the role of Eddie Laclan in Murphy’s latest series, ‘Grotesquerie‘. About Kelce’s performance, Murphy said, “I always knew Travis could do it. I have this saying: A star is a star is a star. I just knew he could do it. He rolls up his sleeves and he says, ‘OK, let’s do this.'”
Murphy also added an Easter egg in episode 3 of the series which is a reference to Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift. In it, Kelce and Nash-Betts hop into a red getaway car. “That’s a little Taylor Swift nod for you there!” said Murphy. (Swift has an album titled ‘Red’ and a song called ‘Getaway Car.‘)
