Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Mother Speaks Up Against The “Public Lynching” Of Her Son Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is at the height of legal woes as allegations of sexual assault against him continue to mount. Many from the industry have come up to critique the rapper, which has also cost him personal as well as professional relationships. Currently behind bars, Diddy has denied all allegations.

Speaking up in his favor now is his mother, Janice Small Combs. The music mogul’s mother had a lot to say in a passionate statement, as she publicly stood behind her child. Charged with sexual assault and sex trafficking, among other counts, the Combs family was represented by this statement issued through Janice’s attorney. Here’s what it said.

Diddy’s mother Janice Small Combs admitted in a statement that although her son isn’t perfect, he sure is not responsible for some of the serious accusations thrown at him. “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” she said while articulating her frustration with media and public judgment before Diddy has been given the chance to hear himself.

She continued describing the ordeal as a “public lynching” and was pained to see her son being vilified in the public without any proper trial. This comes after the revelation that Diddy will face lawsuits from 120 additional accusers, on top of the dozen he’s already battling. Those lawsuits were filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who says allegations predate 1991, when many of the women claim they were drugged and raped by Combs.

Those new lawsuits come one month after Diddy settled with his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, after alleging rape and abuse. Diddy denied those claims, but surveillance footage of him physically assaulting her surfaced later, prompting him to publicly apologize.

Janice did not hesitate to speak about the Cassie incident. “My son may not have told everyone the truth on everything,” she conceded, suggesting that Diddy’s terror and bewilderment could have caused him to lie about what he’d done. However, she asserted that her son had misconstrued what sounded like a settlement into a confession, which returned to haunt him as charges from the government.

Janice further insisted that it doesn’t matter that Diddy lied about just one incident. “Lying about one incident doesn’t make her boy guilty of the repulsive allegations he’s now facing,” she said, further comparing the case to hundreds of others around the world in which innocent people were wrongly convicted and sentenced during this type of hysteria.

Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she said.

This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt,” she added.

These lies hurled at him are driven by those who want to gain financially, not by justice,” Janice said, adding that the family had been hurt by the quick turnabout of the people against Diddy. “The worst part of this situation is seeing my dear son become stripped of his dignity not for what he did, but for what people choose to believe about him.”

Meanwhile, six of the several sex trafficking and racketeering allegations against Diddy have put the international rapper behind bars as lawyers fight to get him out on bail.
