Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota and vice-presidential running mate to Kamala Harris, is not just making waves on the campaign trail. He’s mixing in some pop culture with politics. Walz, known for his easy-going style and strong support of women’s rights, kept the energy high as he addressed the audience.
With his wife Gwen by his side, he offered some simple yet effective advice for the men in the crowd — listen to smart women. And just like that, Taylor Swift became part of the conversation, as Walz made a humorous connection between himself and the pop star over their shared love of cats.
Tim Walz Goes Full Swiftie In Wisconsin
During a rally in Superior, Wisconsin, Tim Walz took a moment to reference none other than pop sensation Taylor Swift. This wasn’t just a casual mention either. Walz was in full Swiftie mode, connecting his political message with one of Swift’s latest songs.
The Governor of Minnesota said: “Here’s my life hack for all the guys out there — surround yourself with smart women and listen to them and you’ll do just fine.”
As Walz got into the heart of his speech, he couldn’t help but show off his Swiftie spirit. Sporting a friendship bracelet from the Harris-Walz campaign merchandise, he added, “That includes my fellow cat owner Taylor Swift.”

He continued, “It’s really great to have all of these women help us beat the smallest man in the world… Donald Trump.” He referenced Swift’s latest album ‘Tortured Poets Department‘ and her song ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived‘.
Speaking to a crowd of about 1,200 people at the Marcovich Wellness Center on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus, Walz was making his fourth stop in Wisconsin as part of the Harris-Walz ‘New Way Forward‘ tour.
The governor has been crisscrossing swing states, including Michigan and Wisconsin, as the campaign continues to drum up support leading into the 2024 election.
Taylor Swift’s Endorsement For Kamala Harris And Tim Walz
Earlier in the week, Taylor Swift had publicly endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket, throwing her support behind the campaign in a lengthy Instagram post. After watching the presidential debate between Harris and Trump, Swift wrote, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.“

Swift didn’t stop there. In a classic move, she ended her post with a cheeky jab at Trump’s running mate JD Vance, signing off as “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady” while holding her cat, Benjamin Button.
Swift’s endorsement of the Harris-Walz ticket only sweetened the deal for the crowd. Her endorsement, widely shared and discussed, added a wave of celebrity excitement to an already heated race.
