Swiftie Decodes a Taylor Swift Theory Connecting Her Two Albums Correctly
One of Taylor Swift’s fans named Patty Eminger took to Instagram to share a theory inspired by the album’s inaugural track ‘Fortnight’, released on April 19. In a post on Instagram, Eminger noted a striking parallel between the opening lyric of ‘Fortnight‘ and the concluding lines of the bonus track ‘Hits Different‘ from Swift’s 2022 album ‘Midnights’.
“The first lyric from the first song on the album ‘Fortnight’ reflects the last song on Midnights,” he explained in his post.
The opening line of the track ‘Fortnight‘ has Taylor Swift singing, “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me.” Whereas, at the end of Taylor’s song ‘Hits Different‘, the lyrics go “Is that your key in the door / Is it OK? / Is it you? / Or have they come to take me away?”
“The album is just pure mania and I heard someone describe it as ‘Tolerate It’ on meth and I was like, ‘Perfect, just what I wanted,’” Eminger concluded with a laugh.
While many fans were surprised by his observation and how the logic behind it fits perfectly, Swift herself also gave a nod to it by liking the post. Fans flooded the comments of the past with heavy appreciation thereafter.

Taylor Swift’s Other Latest Tracks Also Have Connections To ‘Midnights’
Taylor Swift’s lyrical nuances are famous for puzzling her fans with clues about both her personal and professional life. There are some other similarities between her newly released tracks and some of her older songs. For example, in her song ‘So Long, London’, Taylor seems to echo sentiments from ‘You’re Losing Me‘ from the album ‘Midnights’.
Similarly, fans have also drawn parallels between her latest track ‘But Daddy I Love Him‘ and Swift’s iconic ‘Love Story‘ from her 2008 album ‘Fearless‘. Many Swifties suggest that the interwoven narrative in the two songs explores star-crossed love.
Although Swift has never explicitly confirmed these connections, fan theories are always circulating among the Swifties.
