Swifties Decode Taylor Swift’s YouTube Shorts To Find Clues About Eras Tour
Taylor Swift has a way of always keeping her fans on their toes, looking for hints that may give away her next move. The 34-year-old pop star is seemingly doing it yet again by sharing YouTube Shorts with content related to her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘. Her posts have led Swifties to speculate that new songs from the album could also be joining the tour’s setlist.
Swifties are experts at decoding their icon’s messages, and one of them recently pointed out a detail in one of Swift’s shorts that points at the inclusion of TTPD song in her tour performances. The fans spotted Swift leaning against a sign featuring the acronym ‘TTPD‘, with background dancers wearing top hats — an element seemingly new to the tour.
“HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE TTPD SIGN SHES LEANING AGAINST?! OR WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE DANCERS ARE IN TOP HATS!?! ALL OF THIS IS NEW, ” the YouTube user with username @bethanymills1293 commented on the video set to Swift’s latest single ‘Fortnight’.
Besides, in her music video for ‘Clara Bow‘, Swift is seen sitting amidst typewriters with men in top hats in the background, at around the 1:39 mark of the clip. Fans believe it is a visual cue that could possibly mean that the pop star intends to include songs from her new album in her live performances during her upcoming Eras Tour leg in Paris, scheduled for May.

‘Fortnight’ Has Played A Crucial Part In The Success Of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’
As part of the rollout for ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, Taylor Swift had described her track ‘Fortnight‘ as representing some common themes of the whole album, particularly “fatalism, and longing”. She asserted that the album is about some dramatic themes including love, life, and loss with lyrics aimed at evoking intense emotions.
“I think that it’s a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about life or death. ‘I love you, it’s ruining my life.’ These are very hyperbolic, dramatic things to say,” she said. “It’s that kind of album,” Swift said at the time.
During a special listening event hosted by iHeartRadio, Swift further spoke about ‘Fortnight’, a song she has collaborated with Post Malone for. “A lot of the songs on The Tortured Poets Department deal with the idea of heartbreak or loss in a metaphor of something else,” she said while introducing the song.
Since the release of the extended Anthology edition of her album, it has already surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams in less than a week, largely fueled by the success of ‘Fortnight‘ as the breakout single.
