Selena Gomez Shares Her Desire To Become A Mother
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez shared her take on motherhood. “I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my children,” the 32-year-old said. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”
Gomez had to receive a kidney transplant due to the complications of the disease. Moreover, the singer has been vocal about her bipolar disorder symptoms as well, sharing about the same in 2022. Because of the medications for the disease, she would be unable to carry her own children.

Selena Is Excited To See What Her Journey Will Look Like
Selena Gomez does not consider her inability to become a mother as her weakness. This is not how she imagined her motherhood to be like. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” she told VF, noting that she remains hopeful about other avenues for motherhood, including adoption, as her mother is also adopted. “I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone,” she said.
Selena was always excited to see what her journey as a mother would have looked like. But destiny had some other plans. “At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” said Gomez, who calls her family the most important thing.
