Most Hollywood celebrities today are not afraid to speak their mind. It’s perhaps because of this that many of them have been tagged with terms like “woke“. While fans have been divided on whether or not celebrities should have open opinions about sociopolitical issues, Adam Brody thinks it’s the right thing to do, and even has a bone to pick with people on the other side.
Adam doesn’t speak much on these topics but he believes it’s necessary to call out the anti-woke celebrities. He clarified that he does support open opinions and that everybody is entitled to have a different perspective on things. Here’s everything he said.
Adam Brody Is Calling Out Anti-Woke Celebrities
On the latest episode of Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s Armchair Expert podcast, Adam Brody acknowledged that he “falls really short in any activism or changing the world.” However, he clarified that he is against anti-woke celebrities. “Like, people who are in a moral panic about cancel culture?” Shepard asked.
“Yes,” replied Brody. “Of course there’s excesses. There’s excesses on our sides in any large movement. But if that’s your North Star, as a comedian, as an artist, as a political commentator, then you’ve f—ing lost the plot. More good has been done than bad. It’s tangible to me,” he continued.

Being on the set now, as opposed to 10 or five years ago, Brody said that there’s so much difference but the change is positive for him. He also considers the fact that people have been harshly punished too.
“But comedians who are like, ‘This is my thing. This is why I’m going to vote this way. This is my main subject.’ I think there are so much bigger fish to fry, and I find it suspect,” he continued.
Adam Brody Asserts His Support For Different Opinions And Dialogue
Adam Brody welcomes different opinions and he knows that everybody can’t have the same take on a thing. Clarifying the same, he said, “We can have a talk as long as we’re agreeing that global warming is real and we’re going to do something about it. Let’s talk about how to make society a better place”.
It’s a good message as he promotes his new rom-com series, ‘Nobody Wants This’. Adam is Jewish and he was drawn to the series’ contemporary approach. “When I read the part and the character,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I first thought, ‘Oh, okay, so the point is he’s so modern, casual, and not preachy at all — he just happens to be a rabbi, and he really is just a modern L.A. guy.'”

He also appreciates the importance of religion more. “So often it was a religion without a nation, or a persecuted minority, or a broken-up group, so it’s like keeping this thing alive and tracing it back and making sure that we’re all facing this direction at the same time,” Brody added. “We can’t always be in a temple, but we can all do Shabbat, you know what I mean? Everywhere you are, you can kind of make your home your temple.”
