“They’re F***ing Hard To Play And To Make Interesting”: Kit Harington Doesn’t Want To Continue With Hero Roles Anymore

A hero is a person who defeats the villain and saves the people. Everybody enjoys seeing them in movies, Marvel and DC wouldn’t exist without the genre. But in a few cases, the villain steals the show. Now, it seems Kit Harington is done portraying the ‘good guy’ roles in the movies.

The British actor played the role of a hero in the series Game Of Thrones for long but now he desires to shift himself to more ‘dirtbag’ roles.

Kit Harington admitted the hardships faced by the hero during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He has portrayed the role of Jon Snow, a do-gooder, in ‘Game of Thrones’. He said, “My heart goes out to people playing heroes. They’re f-king hard to play and to make interesting. [Playing] a guy who is doing all the right things and is driven by being good, it’s harder to do that. And I think people who do it successfully, who play classically heroic roles, are very talented actors.”

Harington is ready for antagonist roles, and fans would love it. Previously, the actor also confirmed that the spin-off ‘Game Of Thrones’ on his character has been shelved for now.

Harington Is The Antagonist In ‘Blood For Dust’

Kit Harington’s wish to play a negative role has come true. He will be seen in the role of a drug dealer in the new crime thriller ‘Blood For Dust‘. The story is about a salesman named Cliff who gets pulled back into the life of crime by his friend Ricky (Harington). Ricky is a guy with a handlebar mustache and looks like a baddie, which is exactly the role Harington was looking for.

During the same interview, he continued, “That is seemingly what I’ve been hunting a bit. If I look at the roles I’ve taken since playing an out-and-out hero in Game of Thrones, I have to admit there seems to be some sort of pushback about playing a hero. I’m not so interested in heroic roles, and if I am, they have to be pretty anti-hero-ish.”

‘Blood for Dust’ was released in cinemas on 19 April, so you can go and watch Kit doing a fresh role in his career.
