Tim Walz Brings Swiftie Energy To Vice-Presidential Debate With A Pink Friendship Bracelet

Taylor Swift‘s involvement in politics ahead of the presidential elections as she endorsed Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz. Now, the Minnesota Governor is also seemingly paying the popstar back as he nailed the fashion cue during the vice presidential debate with J.D. Vance by wearing a friendship bracelet — an accessory popularized by Taylor Swift’s fans.

Whether an official gesture to the campaign to Harris-Walz merchandise or just a playful homage to Swift, the bracelet caught someone’s attention. Here’s all about it.

After the public endorsement that Taylor Swift had made of Vice President Kamala Harris in September, Tim Walz is not shying away from showing his gratitude. The democratic candidate for the vice-presidential elections was seen wearing a pink color friendship bracelet — an adorable nod to Taylor Swift.

Fans are now speculating whether Walz’s wristpiece was more than an accessory. The Harris-Walz campaign even began selling friendship bands after the endorsement, proving that Swift’s influence perhaps runs deeper than the Billboard charts.

Pop culture references didn’t stop in Walz’s closing arguments, in which he good-naturedly thanked anyone who stayed up to listen and the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ viewers who missed their ABC show because of the debate. “Thank you to all of you, if you’re still up, and the folks who missed Dancing with the Stars, I appreciate it,” he said, noting that the show was pre-empted for the political showdown.

Walz also pointed to the diverse coalition Harris has built, name-dropping Swift alongside Bernie Sanders and Dick Cheney. “They don’t all agree on everything, but they are truly optimistic people,” he said, and that is what the political future needs to be.

He has also praised Swift on multiple occasions since she endorsed his party.

Meanwhile, J.D. Vance wasn’t above fashion scrutiny himself, with everyone abuzz over his eye-catching brightly colored pink tie. Social media went wild, with some of its critics singling out his style and others wondering if he was making a statement in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The vice-presidential debate between Republican J.D. Vance and Democrat Tim Walz came off as a relatively restrained conversation about the issues at the top of American voters’ minds going into the 5 November election. Interestingly, it was nothing like the two presidential debates that we have had so far.

Both Vance and Walz attacked each other’s running mates more than they attacked each other during 90-plus minutes of debate Walz had a shaky start but he held pace as he started talking about abortion and the Capitol riot. The debate was over-all even-tempered and focused on policy. However, a few political body blows served Vance best in the end.
