Tupac Shakur’s murder is one of the biggest mysteries in the music industry. The rapper was shot down in 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Adding more drama to his death, discredited rapper and Shakur’s rival, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was framed back then as a prime suspect. He managed to prove himself innocent at the time, but Shakur’s family is getting the ick again.
Amid Diddy’s sex trafficking and assault charges, Shakur’s family has hired an attorney to reopen the rapper’s murder investigation. Interestingly, the rapper was cornered in 1994 in an elevator and shots were fired at him — 2 years before his death. With a shady background to the murder, investigator Sheryl McCollum has said that Diddy’s involvement in the case cannot be ignored. Here’s what’s happening.
Investigator Claims Tupac Shakur’s Murder Was Not A Robbery
It seems like Diddy’s misfortune is nowhere close to seeing an end. Amid his ongoing legal battle, the rapper has now been revealed as an important suspect in Tupac Shakur’s murder. Talking to NewNation, investigator Sheryl McCollum — who investigated Tupac’s death in 1996 — said that it was much before Tupac’d death that she was familiar with something being wrong.
“This whole thing to me started in 1994 — the first time Tupac is shot,” she said. “You ain’t gotta shoot somebody five times to take their jewelry and their money. Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs and his entourage of 40? Unharmed. Unthreatened,” the official added.
She further questioned, “How does that make sense to anybody that one person is going to be robbed and not the other 40? Who would have had more money and jewelry? Forty.” Tupac was shot four times with a 0.40-caliber Glock and succumbed to his wounds six days later.
Duane “Keefe D” Davis was arrested and identified as one of the shooters. Davis claimed that Diddy paid him $1 million to kill Tupac. However, the discredited rapper had shot down his involvement in the case, which is now resurfacing after all the explosive allegations against him.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Is Being Investigated For Tupac Shakur’s Murder
Tupac Shakur’s family has hired Alex Spiro, a high-profile attorney, to investigate Diddy’s involvement in the rapper’s murder. In 2008 Diddy spoke to AllHipHop.com regarding his framing in the case.
“This story is beyond ridiculous and completely false,” Diddy said, denying all claims of his involvement. “Neither Biggie [Smalls, the late rapper] nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during, or after it happened. It is a complete lie to suggest that there was any involvement by Biggie or myself.”

McCollum claimed that Tupac had allegedly pointed at Biggie and the ‘Bad Boy Record’ label which Diddy owned, indicating the rapper’s involvement. However, the Notorious Biggie was also murdered the next year, in a drive-by shooting, similar to Shakur. Biggie’s murder raised further suspicion of Diddy’s involvement in Shakur’s murder. Further details of the investigation’s findings are awaited.
