Vanessa Bryant has reunited with Nike as a partner to give honor to her late husband, Kobe Bryant, and her daughter Gigi. Vanessa Bryant and Nike will also work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba mentality with young athletes for generations to come.

Vanessa has posted the above post on Instagram to announce her partnership with Nike. They will be continuing their partnership with Kobe Sneakers. She said that she is very proud that her husband, Kobe Bryant’s Sneakers are still the most worn by players on the NBA field. And the demand for his shoes is still desired by fans around the world. With this new partnership, Nike and Kobe’s fans will soon have access to Nike Kobe and Gigi products for years to come. And with this Nike will be donating 100% of Gianna’s annual shoe proceeds to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation(M&MSF).
What Inspired Vanessa, Wife Of The Late NBA Superstar, Kobe Bryant To Partner With Nike?
Vanessa said that she finds inspiration from the global fans of her husband and her daughter. She said that she is grateful to each one of them. Vanessa wants to partner with Nike because she wants to keep Kobe and Gigi’s legacy alive for the global fan base Kobe Bryant had. The Bryant family’s contract with Nike expired last April. And at the time Vanessa said she hopes to build a lifelong partnership with Nike, reflecting her husband’s legacy.
What Is Nike’s Statement For This Partnership?
Nike also released a statement on Thursday. The statement revealed that the partnership’s first new shoe, the Kobe 6 Protro “Mamacita Sweet 16,” will pay tribute to Gigi Bryant. John Donahoe, President & CEO, NIKE, Inc. said in an official statement that Kobe Bryant meant so much to the world, not only for the game but beyond. He went on to say that Kobe’s impact in growing the sport, particularly encouraging women and young people to pick it up, endures as one of his deepest, lasting legacies. Together with Vanessa, Nike hopes to honor Kobe and Gigi by championing a new generation for many years to come.
Kobe, 41, and Gigi, 13, were killed in January 2020. This was after the private helicopter they were traveling in crashed in Calabasas, California. Seven other people, including the pilot and three teenagers, were also killed in the crash.
