Katy Perry posted a brief video on Instagram as a rare follow-up to her recently released single ‘Woman’s World.’ The video of the song, which received a mostly negative response upon its release on Thursday night, partly because of the provocative attire in a pro-female setting, and partly because Dr. Luke, the hitmaker accused of sexual misconduct by his former protégé Kesha, co-produced and co-wrote the song.
Although the case with Kesha was settled without conviction or admission of guilt on his part, his association with the song was still negative. Amid all the backlash, Perry has clarified that the music video was intended to be sarcastic. She further contended that her intentions may become more apparent in the coming weeks as “it’s a whole different world we go to after this.”
“We’re being a bit sarcastic with it,” Perry explained in a video posted to social media on Saturday. “It’s very slapstick, very on the nose. And with this set, it’s like we, ooh, we’re not about the male gaze, but we really are about the male gaze. And we’re really overplaying it, which is like a reset for me, and a reset for my idea of the feminine divine. And it’s a whole different world we go to after this,” she said.

Does Katy Perry Have A New Album On The Way?
Katy Perry’s fans can brace themselves for another video. On July 10, just one day before the arrival of ‘Woman’s World,’ the singer took to her social media accounts to share the news with her followers.
Perry’s sixth studio album, formerly called ‘KP6’ by fans, is officially titled ‘143‘, and it is set to drop on September 20. Katy Perry captioned the post announcing the release of her album, writing, “143. THE ALBUM. SEPTEMBER 20TH. PRE-ORDER NOW,” in all her posts, including the link to her website.
The number 143 is code for “I love you.” It takes the number of letters from each word in the phrase: I (1) love (4) you (3). “I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,” Perry said in a statement.
While the criticism of her song is rampant, fans can hope to get a clearer picture of the situation as she releases more songs.
