What Did Selena Gomez Say That Left Taylor Swift Surprised?
The 2024 Golden Globe Awards gave people its fair share of viral moments, and one that captivated social media had Selena Gomez gossiping with Taylor Swift. Many on social media have claimed that Gomez was sharing some tea about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner with Swift and Keleigh Sperry during a commercial break.
Social media users claimed that Gomez told Swift and Sperry that Chalamet refused to take a picture with her, to which both her friends expressed utter shock. While it was just speculation going around, lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman has now cleared the air about what it was that Selena said.
Freeman confirmed the social media rumors to be true. According to him, Selena was saying, “He didn’t want a picture with me. He said no,” to which Sperry double-checked, “Timothée?” and Gomez nodded. Swift meanwhile looked surprise, before she leaned in to whisper something in Gomez’s ear which remains unclear.

Source Close To Taylor Swift Denies Popular Claims, Says Gomez Never Approached Timothee Chalamet
However, a source close to Swift has denied the claim. The source told Page Six that Gomez was not talking about Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, asserting that Gomez “never went up to them and asked for a photo.”
Though Gomez and Chalamet do not share a social circle, they starred together in the 2019 romantic comedy ‘A Rainy Day in New York’. Moreover, Taylor Swift had an infamous feud with Kylie Jenner’s half-sister Kim Kardashian in 2016 over a lyric in Kanye West’s song ‘Famous’.
Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet marked their presence at the awards together and were seen getting intimate. Though they were not seen on the red carpet together, they were seen visibly in love during the ceremony.
The couple has been together since April 2023, though they made their first public appearance much later during a Beyonce concert. According to Freeman, the couple also exchanged “I love you” during the ceremony that they attended together.
