The Paris Olympics have come to a glorious end, and the closing ceremony was as shiny as the opening ceremony. Graced with several celebrity performances, the event was a star-studded affair. As declared earlier, Tom Cruise stunned audiences with a sky-diving stunt, proving to be just the ultimate daredevil in Hollywood that he is considered for his bold stunts.
Cruise has made a career out of doing his own stunts with on-screen death-defying feats — and with this particular event, he left the audience at the Stade de France agog. Here’s all about his breathtaking performance during the Paris 2024 Olympic closing ceremony.
Tom Cruise Makes A Breathtaking Entry Followed By A Deadly Stunt
Tom Cruise’s sparkling performance at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony began as he dramatically jumped off the roof of one of the world’s biggest stadiums and landed graciously on the stage below. The crowd greeted his act with thunderous applause, setting the tone for a cinematic closing ceremony.
But Cruise’s high-flying stunts were only getting off the ground. Having completed his daredevil drop, he landed in front of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who had just taken the Olympic baton from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. In a metaphorical moment of passing the baton from Paris to Los Angeles, the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star jumped on a motorbike and drove out of the stadium to the tune of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘By The Way‘.

Cruise then got on a plane that took off over the streets of Paris, ending with him flying out of it. A pre-taped video showed Cruise skydiving out of a plane and parachuting down to the iconic Hollywood sign where he attached the five Olympic rings marking the forthcoming LA 2028 Olympics.

Tom Cruise Was An Active Part Of The Paris Olympics
Tom Cruise was a frequent visitor to the Paris Games, where he attended the opening ceremony on July 27 and visited several contests during the event, among other celebrities like Ariana Grande, Steven Spielberg, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Days before the Games’ opening, France’s Culture Minister Rachida Dati awarded Cruise a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
Without question, Paris raised the ante with events at iconic locations like the Eiffel Tower and Chateau de Versailles — not to mention its opening ceremony roster of A-list performers ranging from Celine Dion to Lady Gaga.
Now all eyes turn to Los Angeles as Mayor Bass tantalized that the City of Angels is going to unleash its own kind of Olympic magic for the next event, no doubt with star power from Tinseltown.
