Olympics started with full force this year in Paris. The opening ceremony was a star-studded affair that left the world stunned, with athletes showing up in their nation’s glorious cultural costumes. Gymnastic athlete Simone Biles also made a comeback after a long period after struggling with some major mental health issues.
Biles received appreciation and support not just from her fans and family, but also from a number of Hollywood celebrities including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande among others. Hollywood Backs Up Simone Biles With All Might At The Olympics
The USA gymnastics team, led by Simone Biles during the Olympics 2024, dominated the women’s gymnastics final, as they clinched the gold with a nearly 6-point lead over second-place Italy, by scoring 171.296 points. The win has also cemented Biles’s place as the most-decorated female American gymnast in history.
The victory has sparked a wave of celebration across the United States including celebrities taking to social media to celebrate. Many Hollywood and music stars also flocked to the games over the week, including Natalie Portman, Tom Cruise, Nina Dobrev, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, who was with ‘Elvis’ director Baz Luhrmann, and Keth Urban among others. Country star Keith Urban, who attended the event with wife Nicole Kidman, took to social media afterwards to celebrate the win.
Celebrities from the music fraternity including Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas, Cynthia Erivo, Rosalía, Mick Jagger, and Ariana Grande were seen cheering for her from the crowd. During the opening ceremony, BTS’s Jin participated in the ceremonial torch relay past the iconic Louvre Museum, expressing his gratitude to the ARMY (BTS’s official fandom) for their support. Snoop Dogg, who is reporting on the games for NBC, also took part in the torch relay. He carried it through Saint-Denis, home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium.
The celebrity turnout didn’t stop there. Social activist Greta Gerwig, and NFL player Jason Kelce was also seen with his wife Kylie Kelce in the crowd cheering for team USA. Moreover, well-known Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and athlete Serena Williams were also present in the crowd to support the great women performing.
However, Biles’s husband Jonathan Owens could not show up to support her as he couldn’t leave his training camp for the Chicago Bears.
