What Did Pamela Anderson Say About Aging?

One of the most iconic figures who is still relevant for both good and bad reasons, Pamela Anderson has yet again bared herself in a new memoir. Her new book ‘Love, Pamela’ explores the parts of her life that did not catch the public and media’s eye. We all know her as the sex bomb that exploded on the ‘Baywatch’ beach and the sexual figure that made it to thousands of covers including that of Playboy magazine. But, her life was much beyond that.

During an interview with PEOPLE, Pamela told, “This is just one girl’s life and how I did it, and it’s been a wild adventure”. The life of this sexual symbol got stuck in that image when she got embroiled in a stolen sex tape controversy with her then-husband Tommy Lee. Anderson, for most of her life, had carried that taint and image of a sex symbol, but the star is not shy to embrace old age and aging.

During a recent interview with The New York Times, Pamela Anderson was interacting with the interviewer. Jessica Bennett, the interviewer showed her an application that morphed Jessica’s face into the young Pamela with a hair bun, thin eyebrows, and a pout. Anderson said, “That’s insane”.

But, when Jessica tilted the camera toward her, she refused to see the 20-year version of herself. The actress refused and said, “I am not doing it on myself. I will not”. The ‘Baywatch’ actress is far resigned from that era of her life even if an explosive series like ‘Pam and Tom’ comes along.

Pamela sat down with Dax Shepard, the host of the podcast ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard’. They discussed all the things that shaped and destructed Pam’s life and image and also her new memoir ‘Love, Pamela’. When Dax asked her about the whole conversation about her career revolving around her beauty, she disagreed that she was ever beautiful. Anderson said, “I never felt like I was any kind of great beauty, ever, no. Just a little funny-looking. I can’t wait to see myself old”.

She continued, “I always said I’d recognize myself when I was old in the mirror. I want to let my hair go kind of natural gray, put my little straw hat on, don’t wear makeup. I mean, that’s my comfortable kind of state”.

Pamela Anderson also addressed the Hollywood standard of perpetuating the beauty standards that actresses had when they were young. She said, “A lot of women, I think, that kind of are these classic beauties have a really hard time aging”. But, Pamela is not shying away to accept that she did not have the classic beauty standards. The actress said, “I always felt a little funny looking, so I don’t think it’s as hard for me, and I don’t want to chase that, and I don’t want to do all the crazy s**t to myself.”

Dax addressed the classic misogyny that the actress received due to her perceived image in the media. He compared her to the cases of Britney Spears and Monica Lewinsky. To this, the model replied, “It’s kind of like a funny moment for me because you do feel like you’ve survived all this. But then there is outpouring of love from this young generation who is doing TikTok Pamela’s”.
