Harvey Weinstein was one of the leading producers as the head of production companies Miramax and later the Weinstein Company. Harvey over his career of thirty-eight years produced films like ‘The English Patient’, ‘Good Will Hunting’, ‘Kill Bill: Volume1’, and ‘Untouchable’. Many of his movies were nominated for Academy Awards. And many even won them. However, the career of the American producer came plummeting down as he was sentenced to twenty-four years in prison.
More than a hundred women came out and charged the producer with crimes and offenses of rape, sexual assault, and harassment. The accusations were voiced in 2017. And recently the seventy-year-old was sentenced to another sixteen years. Many celebrated the verdict with joy as they felt that justice had been served.

What Were The Accusations Against Harvey Weinstein?
Numerous women came up and accused Harvey Weinstein of heinous crimes such as rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment that dated back to the 1970s. The chargers infuriated the #MeTooMovement. The producer was already convicted of assaulting an actress during a film festival in 2013. Lately, victim Jane Doe 1 revealed her identity. She shared her trauma: “Before that night I was a very happy and confident woman…Everything changed after the defendant brutally assaulted me. There is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage.”
On the other hand, Harvey claimed that he did not even know the accuser, and pleaded that he did not assault her. Moreover, he asserted that there were multiple “loopholes” during the trial. Before the judge declared the verdict for additional sixteen years, he begged not to be given more years in prison. “I don’t deserve it,” were his words.
