While promoting his podcast ‘That Was Pretty Scary’ on TooFab, the actor remembers clashing with Jim Gillespie, the director of the iconic slasher thriller ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.‘ While his time on the film was wrought with disasters, he appreciates what the movie did for his career in hindsight.

Freddie Prinze Jr Was “Miserable” On The Set Of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’?
The slasher hit ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer‘ was a launching pad for Freddie Prinze Jr’s Hollywood career. Unfortunately, his memories of the film’s production aren’t fond. He recalled Jim Gillespie being upfront about not wanting him in the movie, saying, “There was no passive aggressiveness — which I hate — (the director) was very direct in the fact that, ‘I don’t want you in this movie,’ So when that’s your first job and you hear those words, it just wrecks you, man. It just wrecks you.”
Freddie Prinze Jr also remembers the chaotic filming schedule, requiring them to shoot most nights. Ok top of his, there was a mishap regarding a scene to be shot on a motorboat. This was a ‘near death experience’ led to swearing off the movie business for good. However, a producer talked him into staying on board. However, Jim Gillespie remembers the entire debacle differently, saying he advocated for Freddie Prince Jr being in the movie.

Freddie Prinze Jr Isn’t Interested In Doing Another ‘Scooby-Doo’ Movie
Freddy Prinze Jr told TooFab he isn’t looking forward to returning for another ‘Scooby-Doo movie. “It wouldn’t be something I would do. I have zero interest. I mean, it was tricky. It wouldn’t be for me, man,” said the actor. The actor’s refusal comes from a bad experience with the studio involved.
“There was just so much bait and switch on the first one. The studio was not honest with me in any way, shape, or form… It wasn’t the best. I think I’ve been on two jobs where I had regret doing it, and ‘Scooby’ was one of them,” said Freddie Prinze Jr. referring to Warner Bros. Despite not wanting to return for a ‘Scooby Doo’ franchise, he remains appreciative of his collaborators in both films.
