The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has already kicked off. Pakistan, the hosts, are playing the opening game of the tournament against New Zealand in Karachi. They have already lost the previous two matches against New Zealand in the Tri-Series before the start of the Champions Trophy. Hence, they were coming to this game under tremendous pressure, as every match in this tournament is close to a knockout game.
Muhammad Rizwan, the Pakistan captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand scored 320 runs in their 50 overs. Will Young and Tom Latham scored their respective centuries. Glenn Phillips carried on his stunning form against Pakistan with an innings of 61 runs off 39 deliveries.
However, Phillips continued to hurt Pakistan while fielding as well. Everyone is aware of the fact that he is currently the best fielder in the world and consistently takes some stunning catches with his acrobatic fielding. He took one such in this match to dismiss the Pakistani captain who came out to bat at number three.
William ORourke bowled one short and wide to Rizwan, who absolutely thrashed the ball with all his power, but Phillips flew like a bird to his left, caught the ball with his left hand in the air, and completed a stunning catch. It was destined to be a boundary. However, the acrobatic fielding of Phillips made the catch possible.
THAT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD 😲

India will host Bangladesh in the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai
In the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India will face Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. India have suffered a huge setback as their best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the Champions Trophy with an injury. They have only three pacers in their squad in the form of Mohammed Shami, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, with the seam bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
India will be dependent on their spinners, as they have five spinners in their squad. Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are the two all-rounders who will definitely play with Pandya. One of Varun Chakravarthy or Kuldeep Yadav will be in the playing XI.
The team is coming to the tournament on the back of a comprehensive 3-0 series win against England at home. India have won the tournament twice in 2002 and 2013 and will be looking to emerge triumphant in this edition as well.
