Grant Gustin played the Flash in the CW TV series of the same name and received positive feedback for his portrayal. ‘The Flash’ aired for nine seasons before being canceled. The CEO of CW stated that the show’s cancellation follows “a time of transition” for the network.
Moving past the Arrowverse series and concentrating more on unscripted content looks to be part of that transition. However, there has been some optimism lately regarding Grant Gustin’s return to James Gunn’s DCU as the speed force superhero. It might mark Grant Gustin and James Gunn’s major comeback.

As everyone is aware, James Gunn is helming a brand-new DCU film including the return of all the superheroes, like Batman and Superman. One name that fans are eager to see return is The Flash, maybe playing a new role.
This question remains unanswered still, but when asked about the returning of Grant Gustin this is what James Gunn Answered. “Absolutely not going to waste just because he’s not currently in a DC project.”
However, James Gunn also added that he would also love to work with Gustin at some point by saying, “Grant is an incredibly talented guy, performing now on Broadway, I believe, and is absolutely not going to waste just because he’s not currently in a DC project. But of course I’d love to work with him at some point.”
However, we should also consider the fact that the last few seasons of the series The Flash failed miserably. So, they have to work on a separate series for The Flash with a better storyline.

What Does Grant Gustin Have To Say On His Possible Return
Grant Gustin mentioned that he would also love to return to Gunn’s DC Universe. He was asked to return to Justice League as one of the cornerstones to which The Flash star responded, “Yeah, if James Gunn asked me to play The Flash, I would do it again. I trust James Gunn.”
Many people have launched pushes to get The Flash star to return to the big screen in the DCU, with other actors returning to the DC Universe. Grant Gustin is currently starring in ‘Water for Elephants’ with other actors including Isabelle McCalla, Gregg. Edelman, Joe De Paul etc.
The idea that every star will eventually set a new standard by joining the DCU is still unconfirmed. Fans must so continue to wait for their favorite stars to come back.
