Scott Eastwood Reveals Shocking Truth About Scrapped DCEU Plans

Scott Eastwood, known for his role as GQ Edwards in 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad‘, has revealed intriguing details about what could have been a more significant presence in the DC Extended Universe. According to Eastwood, director David Ayer had plans to bring him back in a different capacity.

However, those ideas were ultimately shelved. In a candid conversation with Screen Rant, the actor also shared his admiration for Batman, expressing interest in taking on the iconic role.

Eastwood’s portrayal of GQ Edwards in ‘Suicide Squad’ marked his introduction to the DCEU. However, the character didn’t make it beyond the first film. Early fan theories speculated that Edwards might secretly be the DCEU’s Steve Trevor. But those theories never materialized.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Eastwood confirmed that director David Ayer had discussed bringing him back as another character. “I know that there was talk about making me into another character and coming back. It just… David Ayer didn’t direct that next film,” Eastwood revealed.

I was like, ‘Look, let’s just see. Let’s see what the next thing holds. Is it a cool character? Who is it?’ And that never came around because he didn’t direct the film, so it was a different movie,” he added. When asked about the identity of this potential new role, Eastwood admitted that there was no concrete decision.

While Scott Eastwood’s time in the DCEU may have been brief, he hasn’t ruled out future opportunities within the DC universe. When asked which character he’d most like to play, Eastwood didn’t hesitate to name Batman as his top choice. “I mean, I think out of the DC universe, I’m definitely a Batman guy,” he said.

I think he’s the most interesting character because he is living double lives that are kind of a little bit more intriguing to me than some of the other ones. Yeah, I don’t know. There’s something cool about that character,” he explained. Additionally, it’s easy to see why Eastwood is drawn to Batman

Eastwood’s rugged charm and intensity could make him a compelling candidate for a future iteration of the Caped Crusader. Moreover, while the DCU has found its Batman in Robert Pattinson, there are a lot of other roles Scott can take over.
