Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate would reportedly have been teased in a post-credits sequence from ‘Black Adam‘ that was cut. The movie also serves as a sort of genesis tale for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, an anti-hero with the abilities of the gods of ancient Egypt who is set free from Earthly prison.
According to a recent claim from The Direct, ‘Black Adam‘ was supposed to feature a second post-credits scene but it was ultimately cut. The stinger would have included a gradual pan up onto Doctor Fate’s helmet resting on the sand, followed by the hand of an enigmatic figure picking it up, as the scene cut to black. It’s uncertain why the sequence was omitted or how they would have played with the Superman cliffhanger.

Who Is Dr. Fate?
The Justice Society of America, the premier group of superheroes before the Justice League, included Doctor Fate for a very long time and is an important part of it. Doctor Fate was one year younger than Batman and Superman when he made his debut in comic books in 1940. Five years before the title Black Adam. Even though he’s been around for a while, his iconic costume hasn’t altered much, and yet he’s fairly obscure outside of DC fandom.
Doctor Fate is a sorcerer and can detect magic coming at him or all around him (which comes in handy with some of the threats he faces). He is also so strong that he can move across different earths and alternate universes.

What Is His Future In The DCEU?
Black Adam‘s climax shows Doctor Fate’s helmet crumble. Although a deleted post-credits scene implies that the item’s magical properties may contain the secret to Doctor Fate’s reappearance. The capabilities of the helmet make it likely that Brosnan’s Doctor Fate will return in some way. But it’s also conceivable that the hero may take on a different identity and be portrayed by a different actor. It’s unclear who the potential bearer of the Doctor Fate mantle will be. Although the deleted post-credits sequence could have been hinting at this.
The character’s future is undoubtedly uncertain as a result of the Doctor Fate post-credits scene’s removal. It’s probable that this is because the character’s place in the DC Universe has not yet been determined.
In any event, Doctor Fate has gained popularity since the release of ‘Black Adam‘. So it’s likely that the character will reappear in some capacity. It can be in a ‘Black Adam’ sequel or a different DCEU film completely.
