The entertainment industry is abuzz with rumors again, and in the middle of the hurricane is a well-known name: Zack Snyder. As Netflix shakes Hollywood with its huge acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, Snyderverse fans have rekindled their long-running crusade to bring back his vision of the DC universe.
And Snyder, ever the gracious creator, has responded with a message that feels, emotionally, if not officially, like fuel to the fire.
Zack Snyder’s Superman Post Fuels Fresh Calls To Restore His DC Universe

Soon after the Netflix-Warner Bros. Discovery news broke in the industry, Zack Snyder went to Instagram to congratulate a personal achievement of 500,000 followers in just two months. However, the timing of his posting, as well as the picture he chose, caught fans’ attention. The director shared a new image of Henry Cavill‘s Superman, an undeniable icon of the Snyderverse.

And he gave a thank-you note with it, which was personal and at the same time subtle. “Today marks a little milestone,” Snyder wrote. “I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s joined along the way.” He continued, emphasizing how profoundly he respects the mythic nature of DC’s characters. “For me, these characters are a kind of modern mythology… Seeing that resonates with so many of you means the world. Here’s to many more stories together!”
To longtime adherents of Snyder’s vision for the DCU, those who campaigned to restore ‘Justice League’, those who made the hashtag RestoreTheSnyderVerse trend, and those who believed in the possibility of selling his DC universe to Netflix, these words were an emotional reunion. This was not Snyder promising. It was not even a semblance of negotiations. But it was sincerity. And in the midst of such huge corporate change, even a spark can set a wildfire of speculation ablaze.
And it has. Social media went off in hours. Memes, fan art, and theories flooded in. The post was targeted by fans for its perfect timing. To them, Netflix, the home of ‘Rebel Moon’ and Snyder’s original projects, felt like the perfect sanctuary for completing his unfinished DC saga. But what of studio realities? This is where things get complicated.
Why Snyderverse Revival Still Has Major Roadblocks

Although the fan movement is ardent, the leaders of Warner Bros. Discovery are still strongly devoted to James Gunn’s new DCU. And they are not mincing words about it. David Zaslav, in a clear statement, said that he had no doubt in the vision of Gunn. It has no storytelling material that offers a larger palette than DC, he said. And no one can relate these stories with the same imagination and excitement as James and Peter. DC Studios is not stagnating; it is gaining momentum.

And on the Netflix side, the streamer has not indicated its plans to rejuvenate Snyder’s DCEU projects. In fact, ‘Rebel Moon 3’ is no longer in motion. ‘Twilight of the Gods’ will not have a second season. So, even though the Netflix/WB acquisition opens up creative possibilities, there is nothing pragmatically to suggest a Snyderverse revival, at least not yet. Still, Hollywood is unpredictable. Mergers upend power structures. Fan movements have worked before. And no one expected Snyder’s cut of ‘Justice League’ to ever become real until it did. For now, the door isn’t open. But it isn’t locked, either.
