At the moment when it appeared that the Snyderverse had been completely shut, Zack Snyder slightly nudged the curtain open.
In a recent episode of Happy Sad Confused, Snyder answered the question that has been on the minds of many: Are ‘Justice League‘ 2 and 3 ever going to happen? The answer was not a resounding yes. However, it wasn’t a no either.
Zack Snyder Leaves The Door Open For His ‘Justice League’ Finale

“We live in a world where all that’s possible,” Snyder said, acknowledging that conversations about continuing the saga, potentially through animation or comics, have absolutely taken place. For those who have been campaigning, seeing Zack Snyder direct Justice League, it is like a breath of fresh air. This has not been a smooth road.

“We’ve absolutely talked about it quite a bit. We live in a world where all that’s possible, and whatever form it would take… that would be amazing.” The theatrical version of ‘Justice League’ that Joss Whedon extensively rewrote failed to perform well at the box office and disappointed numerous audiences. The next thing was one of the most fervent fan movements in blockbuster history.
The four-hour director’s cut of the movie, released on HBO Max in 2021, not only includes the scenes that were cut out, but it also rebuilds trust. Darkseid loomed large. Arcs of characters were complete. The tone matched the mythic scale Snyder had always envisioned. Critics were warmer, audiences were ecstatic, and the sense of unfinished business suddenly felt very real. Now, Snyder’s remarks indicate that he has not abandoned those bigger plans either.
Zack Snyder Suggests His DC Epic Could Return In A New Form

Snyder has already considered the possibility of finishing his planned trilogy as an animated movie, a medium that would not conflict with the continuity of the new DCU. There is no ‘Justice League’ movie planned as part of DCU Chapter One, so an animated follow-up might be in its own creative space.

And this is what makes this moment interesting. This is not about competition or regaining the throne. It is about narration taking a different path. Snyder’s Instagram milestone celebration in late 2025, where he toasted “many more stories together”, only fueled speculation that the door remains unlocked. Nothing is official. No green lights. No production timelines.
However, for longtime fans who thought they would never get to witness the full invasion of Darkseid, or the Knightmare timeline being closed, the very thought that it can happen is an emotional one. There are times when hope speaks louder than confirmation. And now that hope is living once again.
