Ana Ivanović Officially Files For Divorce From Bastian Schweinsteiger Following Affair Allegations

Former world No. 1 Tennis star Ana Ivanović has officially filed for divorce from retired German football star Bastian Schweinsteiger, marking the end of their nine-year marriage. The filing, submitted in November 2025 at the Munich District Court, represents the first concrete legal step following their quiet separation earlier this year.

Ivanović is now living in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with the couple’s three sons. According to reports, she has also initiated child-support proceedings in Spain while the divorce case advances in Germany. This latest development comes after months of speculation, with insiders suggesting the pair’s relationship had been unraveling long before the formal petition was filed.

According to German outlet Bild, Ana Ivanović filed divorce papers with the Munich District Court in November, formally initiating proceedings several months after a representative confirmed in July 2025 that she and Bastian Schweinsteiger had separated. At the time, the split was described as final, with both sides emphasizing that they intended to resolve the matter privately.

Media scrutiny intensified in June 2025 when Schweinsteiger was photographed allegedly kissing another woman while on holiday. German reports later identified the woman as Silvia and suggested their relationship may have started as early as the summer of 2024, fueling widespread speculation that infidelity contributed to the couple’s breakup.

Throughout the coverage, Schweinsteiger’s representatives reiterated that he and Ivanović would not make public statements about personal or family issues. For the unversed, Ivanović and Schweinsteiger first went public with their relationship in 2014 after meeting through mutual contacts in the sports world. They married in a lavish ceremony in Venice in 2016.

The couple shares three sons, Luka, Leon, and Teo. Their last confirmed public appearance together came at the Laver Cup in September 2024, where Ivanović was seen supporting the event. She stepped away from professional tennis in 2016, closing a career highlighted by her 2008 French Open title and a run to the Australian Open final the same year.

On the other hand, Schweinsteiger retired from football in 2019 following a distinguished career with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Chicago Fire, later transitioning into work as a football analyst and broadcaster.

Greg Norman and Chris Evert

Australian golf great Greg Norman and American tennis icon Chris Evert became one of the most headline-making sports couples of the 2000s after each ended long-term marriages to be together in 2006.

Evert filed for divorce from her husband of 18 years, Andy Mill, with whom she shared three children. Norman, meanwhile, separated from his wife of 25 years, Laura Andrassy, with whom he had two children. The story drew even more attention because Mill and Norman had been close friends before the relationship began.

Their engagement was announced during a trip to South Africa, where Evert was working on a tennis academy project. They married in the Bahamas in June 2008, but their union proved short-lived. After just 15 months, People magazine confirmed their separation in October 2009, and the divorce was finalized two months later.

But in May 2014, only weeks after guests received their invitations, McIlroy abruptly ended the engagement over a phone call. He later issued a public statement acknowledging that he realized he was not ready for marriage. At the time, McIlroy was among the world’s elite golfers, while Wozniacki was a former world No. 1 in tennis.
