Ben Affleck and Matt Damon offered public praise for WWE star and current Women’s title holder, Jade Cargill, during a crossover interview shared on WWE’s Netflix platforms as part of the promotional rollout for their upcoming film, The Rip.
WWE circulated clips from the interview across its official social media channels, including an Instagram post featuring Cargill alongside the two actors. The post included the on-screen text, “Ben Affleck and Matt Damon showing love to WWE ❤️👏🏽,” highlighting the moment as a gesture of respect from the Hollywood stars toward the world of professional wrestling.
The caption further noted, “Ben Affleck and Matt Damon showed love to WWE Superstar Jade Cargill and talked about how difficult and challenging it must be to do what she does 🤝 Respect 🤝❤️.”
The interview was filmed as part of the promotional rollout for The Rip, which is currently the No. 1 movie in the United States on Netflix. During the conversation, Affleck and Damon spoke with Cargill about professional wrestling, acknowledging the intense physical demands and discipline required to compete at the highest level in WWE.

The moment stood out as a rare crossover between major Hollywood film promotion and WWE talent, further amplified by Netflix’s expanding partnership with the company. Cargill’s appearance also reflects WWE’s broader streaming strategy, with Netflix now serving as the home of Raw and hosting much of the promotion’s content library.
Jade Cargill Explains Why WWE Removed Cameras After SmackDown Injury

During the same interview, Cargill recounted a separate on-air incident from the September 26, 2025, episode of SmackDown, when she suffered a legitimate facial injury during a Triple Threat match against then-champion Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax.
“I had my face split open a couple of weeks ago, and we had to improvise,” Cargill said, explaining that she had originally planned to climb onto the announcer’s table and beat her chest “like King Kong” before the injury occurred. “The whole arena was in unison like, ‘Oh.’”
She added that cameras stayed focused on her until Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque intervened. “I probably had someone with their camera right in my eye the whole time… and Triple H was like, ‘Get that camera off of her. We have sponsors! We have kids at home!’”

The match later faced criticism after a botched sequence in which Jax did not kick out, yet referee Daphne LaShaunn still counted “two,” leaving fans confused about the finish.
WWE’s decision to limit camera exposure during the incident was in line with its longstanding broadcast standards, which have largely minimized visible blood since the company transitioned to a PG rating in 2008.
