Cardi B publicly reiterated her long-standing allegiance to the Boston Red Sox while celebrating the New England Patriots’ recent AFC Championship victory, further highlighting her growing presence within New England sports despite her Bronx roots.
The rapper spoke to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe on January 25, after the Patriots defeated the Denver Broncos 10–7 at Empower Field at Mile High to clinch a spot in Super Bowl LX.
While supporting her boyfriend, Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Cardi addressed her baseball fandom directly. “I’m a big baseball fan. You know I’m a Red Sox fan,” Cardi said during the on-field interview.
For the unversed, the Patriots’ win secured a Super Bowl matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on February 8. Reflecting on the moment, Cardi added, “It’s kinda cool that we’re keeping it in New England.”
Born in the Bronx, Cardi B was raised in the South Bronx neighborhood of Highbridge after moving there with her family from Washington Heights. Despite living just blocks from Yankee Stadium, she has consistently stated that her loyalty lies with Boston’s baseball franchise.
In October 2018, Cardi explained the roots of her Red Sox fandom in a video shared by former Boston star David Ortiz. “I know y’all don’t understand, I know y’all don’t understand,” she said.
The 33-year-old added, “But if y’all know me for a long time, y’all know I always been a Red Sox fan. And I’m from Highbridge, so I literally lived nine blocks away from Yankee Stadium. But you know, my father is a Red Sox fan. My grandfather is a Red Sox fan. It runs in my blood!”

During an appearance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show in September 2025, Cardi reiterated that she is “a real diehard Red Sox fan,” crediting the team’s makeup. She also praised the roster, saying the Red Sox have “all the best Dominican players.”
“I come from a Red Sox family,” she added. While Cardi said she would consider performing at a Yankees event if asked, she acknowledged the personal conflict such an opportunity would create.
She added, “Sometimes people are like, ‘Oh, imagine if you performed for a Yankee game’ and stuff like that. I would love it, of course,” adding that it would make her feel “like a traitor.”
Her remarks came as she continued to publicly support Diggs throughout the Patriots’ postseason run. Cardi and Diggs were first linked in late 2024 and welcomed their first child, a son, in November 2025.
On-Field Celebrations Spotlight Cardi B After AFC Title Win
Moments after the final whistle in Denver, Cardi B became part of the Patriots’ on-field celebrations, drawing widespread attention through videos shared on social media.
In a clip posted to the Patriots’ official Instagram account, Cardi could be heard shouting, “We going to the Super Bowl! Let’s Go!” as snow fell across the field.
She wore a black leather jacket with matching gloves, her mint green hair reaching her waist, and carried a dark grey purse. The team captioned the video, “LET THEM KNOW CARDI!”
Cardi later shared additional footage on her Instagram Stories. In one video, she cheered Diggs as he became emotional during a live interview, saying, “That’s my baby. Let’s go baby! Let’s go Diggs, Let’s go Diggs.”
